Following is a general description of the Project: A. Furnish and install approximately 800-foot long pipeline between the Goose Creek Raw Water Pump Station and 42-inch diameter Trap Rock Water Treatment Facility raw water transmission main. Work necessary to support this installation shall include: 1. Construction of an accessway to the east shoreline of Goose Creek Reservoir. 2. Cut and cover installation of approximately 500 feet of emergency pipeline. 3. Submerged installation of approximately 300 feet of emergency pipeline across the bottom of Goose Creek reservoir. Work necessary to support this installation shall include: a. Removal of up to 2,100 cubic yards (cy) of sediment from the reservoir bottom to support installation of the submerged section of the HDPE pipeline.b. Dewatering and offsite disposal of removed reservoir sediment. 4. Furnish and install air release valves, hydrants and miscellaneous related appurtenances on the pipeline. 5. Installation and maintenance of various temporary sediment and erosion control measures in accordance with the Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Handbook (VESCH). Control measures shall include, but not be limited to, silt fence, wash racks, stabilized construction entrances, dewatering devices, straw bale dikes, and other measures. B. Upgrade the existing Goose Creek Raw Water Pump Station yard site piping. Upgrade work shall include: 1. Furnish and install two 16-inch check valves, two 16-inch butterfly valves, two air release valves to replace existing valves and appurtenances in the existing raw water pump station vault. 2. Furnish and install two 24-inch butterfly valves, one 24-inch flowmeter and associated manhole structures in the pump station yard. 3. Furnish and install electrical wiring and conduit to new Manual Transfer Switch, and miscellaneous spare conduits to the new manholes in the pump station yard. 4. Furnish and install instrumentation wiring and conduit between the existing PLC in the pump station building and new flowmeter in the pump station yard. Coordinate new flow meter with existing PLC and SCADA. C. Convert the approximately 1,000-foot long seeded dirt access road between the Trap Rock Water Treatment Facility and Goose Creek Reservoir to a gravel road and install a new swing gate in the fence. D. Furnish and install a new concrete and articulated concrete block boat ramp in Goose Creek Reservoir. E.
