The work under this contract is generally located at the intersection of Green Valley Road and Westlake Drive in the City of Fairfield, CA. The work to be performed consists, in general, of reconstruction curb, gutter, and sidewalk to meet accessibility standards, installing rectangular rapid flashing beacons, pedestrian push buttons, landscaping, irrigation, constructing and reconstructing accessible curb ramps, concrete medians, and all other works as shown on the contract documents. Each bid must be in accordance with the provisions of the contract documents now on file with the City Engineer, City of Fairfield, Fairfield, California, which contract documents are incorporated herein by reference and made a part hereof. Bid Guaranty and Bonding Requirements are as follows: (a) a bid guarantee in the amount of 10% of the bid price must be submitted with bid proposal, (b) the successful bidder shall furnish a payment bond and a performance bond in the amount of 100% of total bid price. The Contractor shall perform with his/her own organization, work of a value amounting to not less than fifty (50) percent of the remainder obtained by subtracting from the total original value the sum of any items that may be designated as "Specialty Items" in the Special Provisions. There will not be a pre-bid meeting held for this project. Prospective bidders of the project are encouraged to contact the Public Works Department with any questions by written request using the form within the bid documents. Public Works staff shall indicate on the sealed bid the time and date of the bid receipt to validate the bid was appropriately received. Bids received after the time and date specified in the Notice to Contractors shall be rejected as invalid.
