The Work to be performed shall include: Construction of seismic retrofits and recoating of the interior and exterior of a 4.5 MG welded steel reservoir, including but not limited to site piping modifications, tank seismic modifications, modifications to tank access components and vents, provision of temporary containment around the reservoir, reservoir painting, electrical and controls modifications, and other work necessary to complete the project. Small, minority and women-owned business are encouraged to participate in the bidding as prime contractors, subcontractors, or suppliers. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bid or in the bidding process, and make the award as deemed to be in the best interest of the City. SCOPE OF WORK The work specified in this Section consists offurnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for construction ofthe Southeast Redmond Tank Painting and Seismic Upgrade Project, as shown on the Plans, and hereinafter specified, at the Tank site. Work shall include, but not be limited to, the following: A Installation and maintenance oftemporary erosion and sediment control facilities. B. Installation of drainage facilities and conveyance system to convey water from roof drains to the storm system. C. Modifications to the tank drain, overflow, and pressure sensing line piping. D. Modifications to the existing site piping to install flexible expansion joints on the reservoir inlet and outlet piping. E. Addition of a raised piping inlet inside the reservoir. F. Installation of a davit crane and hoist and interior platform on the tank. G Modifications to the existing tank including replacing and moving roof vent, adding guard rails on the roof, modifying the exterior tank ladder, replacing and moving the level indicator and replacing conduit chases. H. Tank seismic retrofits including welding horizontal stiffeners inside the tank and installing a reinforced concrete ballast ring inside the tank. I. Seal welding ofreservoir roofplates to roof plate joints, rafter to tab, and rafter girderjoints. J. Surface preparation and recoating ofthe reservoir interior and exterior. K. Installation of a seismic control panel and associated electrical and telemetry work. L. Installation of a buried vault containing a motorized seismic control valve. M. Site work including site restoration. N. Provide testing, commissioning, training, and record drawings as specified herein O. Provide all associated work as shown on the Plans and specified herein, for a complete and workable system. The work outlined above is not an exhaustive definition ofthe scope of work.
