Mill Pond Park Revitalization Project. Mill Pond Park is 19.1 hectares in size. Amenities include trails & recreational facilities. Town Square Option A: Gallery & onsite operations facility. Access from the corner of Mill St & Wood Lane. Improved paving. New playground amenities, reconstructed boardwalk & lookouts. Re-naturalized shoreline. Village Green Option A: Elevated boardwalk, primary trail, channel lookouts & eastern green. Countryside Grounds Option A: New playground amenities, gateway landscape feature, new green parking lot, washroom & kiosk, central lawn & potential skating area. TIMELINE: TMIG has completed the Environmental Assessment & Dillon Consulting to complete the Master Plan. The Final Mill Pond Park Revitalization Master Plan Report was brought to Committee of the Whole on April 3, 2024. Richmond Hill Council has approved the Mill Pond Park Revitalization Master Plan which will create new amenities, trails and improved facilities for residents. The owner expects that the project will be publicly tendered. The phasing and implementation details will be determined during the detailed design stage. Additional funds that are currently forecasted in the Capital Plan for design in 2025 will need to be approved by Council as part of the 2025 Capital Budget process. The construction of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the project is now recommended to occur in tandem given the inter-dependencies between the construction works in these two phases. The redesign and construction of the new park is expected to take place over the next seven years, dependent on capital funding. Updates may be available spring 2025.
