Site work and paving for a road / highway in Gonzalez, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
This project consists of roadway resurfacing improvements along Old Chemstrand Road, beginning at the east Railroad Right of Way line and ending at the entrance to Monsanto (approximately 2.18 miles). This project will consist of the 1.5" milling of the existing asphalt, the installation of 2.5" County Specification Type SP 12.5 Asphalt Structure Course, 2" of FDOT SSP 12.5 76-22 wearing course, temporary striping after each day of production, and thermoplastic striping once the paving has been completed. Right of Way restoration with appropriate fill material, grading (to allow water to sheet-flow off asphalt), sodding, erosion and sediment control, and all other incidental work is included in this project. Fifty percent (50%) of milling will be retained by the Escambia County Road Department. This work shall be coordinated the Vendor. Escambia County will provide the required trucks to obtain the retained milling. The Monsanto plant receives numerous trucks per day, all of which come through this section from Hwy. 29. Due to the number of trips and their loaded weight, a detour is not possible. Therefore traffic shall remain open throughout the duration of this project.
