Remove existing ADA ramp and install Caltrans standard ADA ramp with truncated dome (concrete inset). Project Schedule: The work shall be completed within twenty-five (25) working days from the First Day of Construction as defined in the Notice to Proceed. Required Contractor's License: Bidder must possess a current Class "A" (General Engineering), Specialty C-12, or Specialty C-32 contractor's license issued by the State of California, at the time the Bid is submitted. The Contractor and all subcontractors shall be licensed by the State of California in the class appropriate for the work contemplated. Failure of Contractor or his/her subcontractors to possess such current license at the time of bidding may be deemed sufficient cause for rejection of the bid. Portion of Work to be performed by the Contractor: The General Contractor shall perform, with his own organization, work of a value amounting to not less than 50% of the total contract, excluding specialty items as may be indicated on the bid schedule. Reservation of Rights: The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids; to make any awards or any rejections in what it alone considers to be in the best interest of the Town, and waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids. If there is a reason to believe that collusion exists among any bidders, none of the bids of the participants in such collusion will be considered and the Town may likewise elect to reject all bids received. Prevailing Wage Rates: Bidders are hereby notified that provisions of California Labor Code regarding prevailing wages and apprentices are applicable to the work to be performed under this contract. Pursuant to Section 1773 et seq. the general prevailing wage rates have been determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations and appear in the California Prevailing Wage Rates. Copies are on file at the office of the City Engineer and are available to interested parties upon request. The successful bidder shall post a copy of the wage rates at the job site. Bidder's Guaranty: All bids shall be presented under sealed cover and shall be accompanied by cash, cashier's check, certified check, or bid bond made payable to the Town of Atherton for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the amount of said bid, and no bid shall be considered unless such cash, cashier's check, certified check or bid bond is enclosed therewith. If a bidder uses a different bid bond form than that provided in this package, it must be the exact equivalent. If it is not, the bid shall be deemed non-responsive. Amount of Bonds: The faithful performance and payment bonds shall be in the sum of not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. The bond for material workers and laborers shall be in an amount equal to not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
