Renovation of a bridge / tunnel in Ramona, California. Design plans call for the renovation of a bridge / tunnel.
This project will construct a new bridge on 13th Street over the Santa Maria Creek. This project is needed to replace a low water crossing culvert that is subject to flooding and causes road closures. This project is included in the San Diego County's FY 2021-2025 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). Per the owner, as of March 15, 2022, a design team has been selected. The owner states that they have not selected a general contractor. Owner states that construction is anticipated to begin in mid to late 2023. The project is included in the county's 2020-2024 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of March 18, 2021, Environmental Technical Studies are completed and the Environmental Document is going out for public review this summer. An advertisement for a general contractor bid won't take place until mid- 2022. Construction is anticipated to start by late 2022 and be complete by Summer, 2024.
