Phase two is a realignment project to connect Honeysuckle Road south of Hartford Highway/AL-52 to a proposed roundabout by Houston County Road and Bridge at the intersection of Campbellton Highway and Taylor Road. This project will include widening the existing Honeysuckle Road from Hartford Highway to Homestead Subdivision to 3-lanes with a center turn lane. Starting at Homestead Subdivision heading south the road will incorporate a two-lane roadway with a center landscaped median island. A traffic signal will be installed with turn lanes at the intersection of South Park Avenue. This project will also include a 10' walking/biking trial from Homestead Subdivision to Campbellton Highway and a 6' sidewalk from Homestead Subdivision to Hartford Highway. As of March 16, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2022-2027 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2022.
