This work shall consist of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials needed to rehabilitate specific elements of the existing bridge structures and to the overlay existing bridge decks with latex modified concrete as directed in the contract document and plans. Work includes: traffic control, marking & delineation, existing deck surface preparation by removing deteriorated concrete using scarification and hydro-demolition methods, placement of latex modified concrete overlay; disposal of waste materials, existing joint demolition and reconstruction, grooving bridge floors, milling and placement new asphalt paving for bridge roadway approaches and shoulders, pavement markings, portable lighting and all incidental items necessary to complete the project as specified and indicated on the plans. In the alternative, a five percent (5%) bid bond issued by a corporate surety licensed by the State of North Carolina may be filed with the proposal. Bidders must be properly licensed under Chapter 87 of the General Statutes of North Carolina and must comply with nondiscrimination provisions.
