Renovation of a medical facility in New Westminster, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a hospital.
The Royal Columbian Hospital site is a multi-story network of buildings with the Cardiac Catheterization Labs (Cath Labs) located on the second floor of the Health Care Centre, adjacent to the operating room theatres. Within the department there are currently two Catheterization Labs and a four (4) bay patient hold / recovery area. This project proposes a two-phase expansion and renovation of the Cardiac Cath Labs by: Phase 1 - adding a new twelve (12) bay pre/post recovery unit (formerly Sacred Space) within proximal distance of the existing Cath Labs. Phase 2 - adding a Multipurpose Interventional Suite adjacent to the existing Cath Labs, designed with capabilities to perform cardiac catheterization, trans-aortic valve implantation (TAVI), cardiac device implantation, and electrophysiology procedures. Only Construction Management Companies pre-qualified by the Authority for Acute Care Projects greater than $5M may bid on this Request for Proposals (RFP). The Authority will not consider a bid from a firm not already pre-qualified for Acute Care Projects greater than $5M.
