Site work for a municipal facility in Richmond, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a municipal facility.

As of January 5 2022 this is complete. This is the first step in the process of an emergency procurement action being taken by the Virginia Department of General Services to purchases the services described within this RFQ, identified as Phase I and Phase II. Such procurement shall be made with such competition as is practicable under the circumstances. The scope of work for this RFQ consists of the following phases, together, the Project. Phase I: The Phase I scope of work will consist of the removal of the Robert E. Lee bronze equestrian statute, weighing approximately 12 tons, and two bronze plates attached to the east and west sides of the pedestal and located at Monument Avenue and Allen Street in the City of Richmond, from its granite pedestal, prepare the statue in a secure manner for transportation, transport the statue and place the statue within a designated storage facility located within 50 miles of the City of Richmond. The firm shall be prepared to carry out the Phase I Scope of Work within 48 hours of written notice by the Owner to proceed with the Scope of Work. Phase II: The Phase II Scope of Work consists of the removal, cataloging, preservation, and relocation of the granite stone that comprise the pedestal upon which the statue stands to a storage location determined by the owner within 50 miles of the City of Richmond. The Firm shall be prepared to carry out the Phase II Scope of Work within 48 hours of written notice by the Owner to proceed with the Scope of Work. All Inquiries for Information Shall Be Submitted in Writing by Email, No Later Than June 16, 2020. To: Department of General Services, Office of Procurement Services, Email: Procurement@dgs.virginia.gov No Questions Will Be Answered by Phone All Responses to Emailed Inquiries Will Be Answered by June 17, 2020, by Posting Electronically Anticipated Start Date: After contract award and within 48 hours after written notice from the owner to the contractor is issued, the contractor will mobilize on the site to begin the work. Anticipated Duration: Phase I to be completed within 72 hours of the contractor mobilizing on the site. Phase II to be completed within 30 calendar days from the Owner directing, in writing, the Contractor to proceed. *This project timeline has been extended due to the public health crisis.
