Site work for a mixed-use development in West Hempstead, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

For Northwest and Northeast Ponds Enhancements at Hempstead Lake State Park General Construction Contract: D005749 The work of this contract includes stormwater flow improvement and remediation through installation of floatables catchers, detention basin, constructed wetland, channels and pipe culverts along with replacement of the NW Pond dam, new Eagle Avenue visitor parking facility, new and restored trails including new pedestrian bridges, and upland restoration and wetland mitigation landscape. Each bid must be prepared and submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. All bids must be accompanied by Bid Security in the form of a certified check, bank check, or bid bond in the amount of: $550,000.00 (Five Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents) The following goals for MWBE participation on this project have been established at: Minority Owned Business Enterprise (MBE) 13% Women Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) 17% The following goals for SDVOB participation on this project have been established at: Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business 4% In accordance with State Finance Law, Section 139j, the following agency staff has been designated as contacts for this contract: Mr. Frank McCue 518-486-2923 Frank.McCue@parks.ny.gov Mr. Stephen McCorkell 518-474-1352 Stephen.McCorkell@parks.ny.gov Ms. Margaret Ziminski 631-321-3544 Margaret.Ziminski@parks.ny.gov Please note that contacting any other agency staff regarding this contract may be a violation of State Finance Law, Section 139j, resulting in a determination of contractor non-responsibility The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Bond in the statutory form of public bonds required by Sections 136 and 137 of the State Finance Law, each for 100% of the amount of the Contract The completion date for this project is 425 days after agreement has been approved by the NYS Comptroller's Office. Project Specific Liquidated Damages (Refer to Table 14) In the event the Contractor fails to complete all the work on time, the Contractor agrees to pay the Office liquidated damages in the amount referenced in Article 14.10 of the General Conditions
