Site work for a water / sewer project in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Designated as Bid for the Following Described, to Wit: Ocean Springs Harbor Tidelands Improvements the Project Consists of Removing and Replacing (80) Eighty 35 Ft. Long Class B Timber Piles, Installing (4) Four New 35ft. Long Class B Timber Piles at the North End of the "Kensington" Harbor, and Relocating the Fish Cleaning Station to the North End Ofthe "Kensington" Harbor. "Kensington"Harbor Will Be Dredged +/-two Feet in Depth and Twenty Feet From the Dock. 1481 Cy of Material is Expected to Be Removed. The Total Contract Time Will Be 90 Consecutive Calendar Days and the Liquidated Damages Will Be $250 Per Consecutive Calendar Day Thereafter. The Jackson County Board of Supervisors Hereby Notifies All Bidders That It Will Affirmatively Insure That in Any Contract Entered Into Pursuant to This Advertisement, Minority Business Enterprises/woman Business Enterprises Will Be Afforded Full Opportunity to Submit Bids in Response to This Invitation and Will Not Be Discriminated Against on the Grounds of Race, Color, or National Origin in Consideration for an Award. For Sealed Bids, a Certified Check or Bank Draft Payable to the Order of Jackson County Board of Supervisors, Negotiable U.s. Government Bonds (at Par Value), or a Satisfactory Bid Bond Executed by the Bidder and an Acceptable Surety, Must Be Submitted in an Amount Equal to Five Percent (5%) of the Total Bid. All Bids Submitted in Excess of $50,000 by a Prime or Subcontractor to Do Any Erection, Building, Construction, Repair, Maintenance or Related Work, Must Comply With Section 31-3-21, Mississippi Code of 1972, by Having a Current Certificate of Responsibility From the State Board of Public Contractors. The Current Certificate of Responsibility Number Shall Be Indicated on the Exterior of the Sealed Bid Envelope Before It Can Be Opened. Resident Contractors Shall, in Accordance With Laws of the State of Mississippi, Be Granted Preference Over Non-residents in the Award of the Contract in the Same Manner and to the Same Extent as Provided by the Laws of the State of Domicile of the Non-resident . A Non-resident Contractor Shall Attach to His Proposal a Copy of This Resident States Current Law Pertaining to Such States Treatment of Non-resident Contractors. Any Bid Submitted by a Nonresident Contractor Which Does Not Include the Nonresident Contractor's Current State Law Shall Be Rejected and Not Considered for Award. All Bids Submitted for $50,000 or Less Shall Be So Marked on the Exterior of the Sealed Bid Envelope Award Will Be Made to the Lowest and Best Bidder and the Jackson County Board of Supervisors Reserves the Right to Reject Any and All Bids. Bids May Be Held for a Period Not to Exceed Sixty (60) Days From the Date of the Opening Ofbids for the Purpose of Reviewing the Bids and Investigating the Qualifications of Bidders, Prior to Awarding of the Contract.
