Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority (the "Airport Authority") is requesting separate sealed proposals for the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment and services for the IIC CBP IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT at Huntsville International Airport, located in Huntsville, Alabama. All bids must be sealed and marked in the lower left-hand corner "Sealed Bid - IIC CBP IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT" with the opening time and date. Bidder must be an Alabama General Contractor licensed by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors for Alabama pursuant to Alabama Code Section 34-8-1, et seq. Only bids of such Contractors who are licensed at the time of submission of the bid will be considered. Bidder must place his/her current license number on the outside of his/her sealed bid or otherwise Bidder's bid shall be rejected. (I) Any bid received after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids will be returned to the bidder unopened. Pre-qualification of bidders is not required. The IIC CBP IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT will consist of remodeling of current office space on the second floor of the International Intermodal Center. The work primarily involves physical building security upgrades to include bullet proof walls/doors, new door lock system, and an intrusion detection system. The spaces surrounding this tenant will be occupied and the tenant will use portions of their current space during construction. The work will be performed in phases. This contractor will assist in relocating the CBP personnel and equipment/furnishings during the work. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total contract amount, as shown on the schedule of prices, which shall be made payable to Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority and shall be subject to the conditions set forth in the bid documents. A performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and a labor and material payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required. Contractors and subcontractors working on this Project will be required to use E-Verify to electronically verify the employment eligibility of their employees. This Project is also subject to compliance with the Alabama Immigration Act. The Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority reserves the right to waive any informalities, technicalities or irregularities in the bids received, to reject any or all bids, and to enter into negotiations with the lowest responsive bidder. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 90 days after the actual date of bid opening.
