This project will provide funding for widening of Hanging Rock Road. Hanging Rock Road is approximately 1.6 miles in length and connects Valley Falls Road to Double Branch Road. The road is approximately 18 feet wide and is currently in fair to poor condition. This project includes a complete reconstruction which involves widening the road to 24 feet, improving horizontal curve and vertical hill issues, and installing any needed safety improvements (to include, but not limited to rumble strips, raised/reflective pavement markers, signage, guardrails, and pavement markings.) Included with this project is associated engineering design and right-of-way acquisition. A combination of road maintenance fee funding and general obligation bond proceeds has been utilized for funding this project. Remaining construction costs will be funded with General Fund dollars. This project directly supports Council's strategic vision by being a core component of the County's infrastructure plan. The project also improves services provided to citizens by upgrading a roadway in a highly traveled corridor of the County. The project is included in the County's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of September 15, 2025, further details have not yet been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
