As of June 25, 2024, this project has yet to go out to bid for general contractors. A firm timeline for bidding and construction have not yet been determined. *The previous solicitation is listed below for reference The improvements will include construction of the first phase of the Beeline Trail in New Britain, CT. This phase of the Beeline Trail is approximately 4,300 feet of paved multi-use trail which runs parallel to the south side of the Route 72 right of way between Washington Street and West Main Street. The project also includes drainage improvements, fencing, minor landscaping, granite curbing, concrete sidewalks, retaining wall(s), and restoration of disturbed areas. The projected construction cost is expected to be in the range of $2,400,000. Firms responding to this request should be of adequate size and sufficiently staffed to perform the assignment described above. The Consulting Engineering firm will be evaluated and selected based on design and technical competence, the capacity and capability to perform the work within the time allotted, past record of performance, and knowledge of Federal, State, and Municipal procedures, appropriately weighted in descending order of importance. The design fee will be negotiated on a Lump Sum basis. The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) sub consultant goal will be no less than five percent (5%) of the original agreement value. The selected firm must meet all Municipal, State and Federal affirmative action and equal employment opportunity practices. Personnel in responsible charge of the projects will be required to possess and maintain a valid Connecticut Professional Engineer’s License.
