A timeline for a rebid is not yet determined.** The Kerr Lake Regional Water System (KLRWS) is located in the City of Henderson, NC. North of the Triangle on Kerr Lake. The KLRWS Water Treatment Plant is a 10-mgd facility with capacity for 15-mgd. The system provides water to approximately 50,000 customers. Kerr Lake Regional Water System is a unique business entity in the water industry, where the system is comprised of a Water Treatment Plant (WTP), and transmission lines that sell water wholesale to their three partners. The three partners are the City of Henderson, the City of Oxford and Warren County. The partners sit on an advisory board that generally meets quarterly with the goal of planning and developing objectives that meet short and long-term goals of the partners as well as State and Federal regulatory authorities. Kerr Lake Regional Water Treatment System has teamed with CDM Smith for a "Progressive Design-Build" system to provide a Design-Build Team to provide Equipment, Engineering (planning, design, construction administration), Construction Services and Funding Administration for a New Ballasted Flocculation and Sedimentation Process with carbon adsorption, a redundant filter, appurtenances, controls and ADA compliance infrastructure. Construction for the project is scheduled to start 4th quarter 2020.
