The City of Lubbock, TX, is seeking statements of qualifications for Professional Engineering Services for Pump Station 11B. The North Water Treatment Plant is located at 6001 North Guava Ave and functions as the primary water supply for the City. Pump Station No. 11 is the main distribution pump station to the distribution system, Pump Station No. 4 and Pump Station No. 15. This Pump Station was built in the 1960s surpassing its design life and has an antiquated outdoor design that is no longer preferable by the City. In addition, the City of Lubbock has continued to grow in multiple areas that are directly serviced by this pump station. Due to the age and limitations of the existing pump station it has been determined that a new pump station needs to be constructed in its place. In a recent project the 6 million gallon ground storage tank was replaced by a new 8 million gallon ground storage tank. Evaluate the capacity of the future pump station and storage requirements for current and future growth utilizing water system modeling software. Design a new indoor pump station with a temperature controlled atmosphere that is elementary and functional versus high end. The temperature controlled pump station shall at a minimum prevent freezing temperatures from occurring within the facility. Evaluate the current generator capabilities to be able to properly operate all plant equipment along with the new pump station. Complete a set of all necessary engineering drawings and specifications to successfully bid, award, and construct the project within the findings of the performed evaluation.
