Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Kingston, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The current project consists of the renovation of the existing 4-storey building at the South, East and Sister's wings of the building. The fourth section of the building, the Gibson Wing, is not part of this project. This portion, although connected with at the north end of the South Wing, is clearly delineated as separate from the area under renovation in this project. The gross floor area of the wings to be renovated is approximately 8,579m2. In preparation for this renovation contract, Queen's has engaged a contractor to complete the bulk of the required demolitions, and all of the designated substance abatement. This work is scheduled to be completed at the end of September 2020. A brief overview of the scope of work for this project is provided below: - Complete remaining selective demolition. - Provide new partition walls, finishes and fixtures as per drawings and specifications. - Provide new plumbing & HVAC systems for the building. - Provide new communications/data and fire safety (detection and sprinkler) systems in the building. - Install a new geo-exchange field for the HVAC system. - Rework the electrical distribution system and provide new electrical systems. - Complete civil services and landscaping works to support vehicular and pedestrian access and parking.
