Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Sidney, Iowa. Completed plans call for the addition of a 18,000-square-foot educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

As of December 16, 2020, the project is under construction. New Pre-engineered metal building of approximately 18,000 sf that will house a gymnasium, Automotive and welding shops, classrooms, music room/stage and restrooms. All finishes as well as athletic equipment. There will also be renovations to the existing building. The project shall be bid in a sealed envelope with specified bid form and bid security. The steel package has already been bid and no bids will be taken for this package at this time. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The project shall be bid in a sealed envelope with specified bid form and bid security. Several of the bid packages have already been bid and at this time we will only be accepting bids for the following bid packages: Bid package #9 General Trades Bid Package #4 Fire Suppression (Elementary School) No other bid packages will be bid or accepted. *Please note that the all bids MUST BE hard copy using the official bid form, include the noted bid security and delivered in one of three ways: Hand delivered prior to the bid time at the site of the bid opening. Delivered to Boyd Jones Construction Office (950 S 10th St, suite 100, Omaha, NE 68108) no later than 10:00a the day of the bid opening. Mailed directly to Sidney Community Schools to be delivered prior to the date and time of the bid opening. No other types of bids will be accepted. Feel free to contact us with any questions prior to the bid. Please note that this project is being as a Construction Manager as Agent, and each bid scope shall be addressed and delivered to the Sidne Community School Disrict (Attn: Disrict Offices), 2754 Knox Road, Sidney, IA 51652 in a sealed 9 x 12 envelopeclearly labeled wih the Project name 'Sidney Community School District Additions and Renovations' and the name, address, and phone number of the Bidder. Please note that no oral, facsimile, telephonic, or digital bids or modifications will be considered. Neither the Sidney Community School District nor its agents will assume liability for the inability of the bidder to submit a bid in a timely manner. Bids received after the deadline will be rejected. Bidders bear full and complete responsibility for the timely submission of such bid. Time of receipt shall be the time recorded and determined by the School District or designee. The bidder shall include all requested forms and attachments with their submission of the Bid Form; failure to comply may be cause for rejection. The project is sales tax exempt for materials and certificates will be issued post bid. Each Bid shall be accompanied by Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total Bid submitted. Bid Security must be in the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders - Invitation to Bid and be submitted in a separate sealed envelope clearly labeled Bid Security. Bid Security must be in one of the following forms: Certified Check, Cashier's Check, Certified Share Draft or Bank Draft of Surety Company and approved Bond Form. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Certificate of Insurance and Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds both in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Price and in accordance with other requirements outlined in the Bid Documents. Should the successful Bidder fail or neglect to furnish satisfactory performance/payment bonds, refuse to enter into a Contract on the basis of the bid, or fail to meet the requirements of this Notice and of the specifications regulating the award, the Bidder's security may be retained as liquidated damages. No Bidder may withdraw its Bid for a period of forty-five (45) days after the date and hour set for the opening of bids. The work shall commence within ten (10) calendar days after the date set forth in written Notice to Proceed and shall be substantially complete per the schedule provided in the bid documents. The award of contract may be made by the Sidney Community School District Board of Directors to the lowest, responsive, responsible Bidder meeting the specifications. The right is reserved to reject any or all Bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract or contracts as shall be deemed in the best interests of the Sidney Community School District. The Board reserves the right to defer acceptance of any proposal for a period not to exceed forty-five (45) calendar days after the date bids are to be received. All bids will be governed by applicable provisions in the Iowa Code and Board Policies.
