The Project consists of constructing a railroad track extension of the Trapac lead track to the San Pedro main line track alongside the existing main line track south of Harry Bridges Boulevard, including rail tie-ins to existing tracks, turnouts and crossovers, reconstruction of West Basin Container Terminal lead tracks, track drains, and extension of grade crossing modules. Work also includes demolition of fences, installing new asphalt concrete pavement, restriping main gate lanes, and other improvements. In addition, the Work includes installation of fencing with K-rail, striping, installation of steel pipe casings and concrete slabs at existing utilities that cross under new railroad tracks including driving piles under a new concrete slab at existing storm drain, construction of electrical system, construction of a storm drain and under-drain systems. The successful bidder shall possess an active Class A California Contractor's License at the time of award. Please note that this project will include requirements mandated by the Port of Los Angeles Small Business Development Program aimed at increasing participation of small businesses and very small businesses in construction contracts. At time of bid, the SBE and VSBE participation levels shall be based on the percentage of total contract amount (including the Allowance Items) to be paid to SBE and VSBE subcontractors and suppliers. Therefore, bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the pre-bid conference to receive information about the Program. All questions are to be submitted online.
