Bid Openings and Pre-Bid meetings will be conducted online using the video conferencing platform ZOOM. Those interested in participating in this bidding process must pre-register by sending email notification of Intent to Bid, including the project bid number listed above, to steve.miller@ci.kinston.nc.us at least 24 hours before the meeting. An email response confirming registration will be sent within one business day. If confirmation is not received, please re-send the email Notification of Intent to Bid or call Steve Miller at 252-939-3285. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a cash deposit, cashiers check or certified check on some bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in an amount equal to not less than 5% of the total amount of the proposal. In lieu thereof, a bid bond which conforms to the provisions of G.S. 143-129, as amended may be submitted by the bidder. Any proposal not accompanied by such deposit shall be void and will not be considered. Contractors are hereby notified that they must have the proper license under the State Laws governing their respective trades. All bids will require a performance bond and a payment bond at time of contract execution (not required as part of the bid package). IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BIDDERS TO INSURE THAT HIS/HER BID IS RECEIVED BEFORE THE HOUR GIVEN ABOVE. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days of the date of bid opening.
