As of March 11, 2021, an architect has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Cabarrus County Infrastructure and Asset Management (IAM) is requesting architectural services for a project the Cabarrus County Jail Housing building located at 40 Corban Avenue in Concord, NC. IAM is seeking to hire a qualified firm licensed in North Carolina to assist with the design, submittal and cost estimating of a screening for various mezzanines at our main jail location. The design needs to consider impact to security, line of sight, fire suppression, foot candle, and mechanical. The design will have to be approved by local AHJ and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Division of Health Service Regulation. Cabarrus County will review the programming and feasibility study and if the project is approved the same firm will be contracted to design the project and to provide construction administration services while it is being built.
