Construction of an elementary school Jules-Poitras and Community Hub on a vacant 15,500 m2 lot acquired by Saint-Laurent. The owner expects that additional 8,000 m2 of space to the north of this site also owned by the Borough may be also used for the project. Based on a common vision, the project submitted consists of a 6-18 elementary school, social, community, sports and recreational spaces, including a social pediatrics centre, a teen zone and spaces shared between the Borough and the Centre de services scolaire. Residents and students would be able to benefit from a gymnasium, a library, an outdoor soccer field, a schoolyard and a parking lot. Scope of work, budget and timelines of the project development are not finalized. TIMELINE: The project is preliminary. The owner is seeking required approvals and funding for the project implementation based on the project concept established by the firm Macogep. Municipal authorities of the Borough and Marguerite-Bourgeoys School Board continue their efforts with Montréal and other government authorities to establish a funding package necessary for the project's implementation. Owner expects that a architectural competition for the project design will be organized in spring/summer 2025. Timelines of the project development and scope of work are being finalized.
