Site work for a water / sewer project in San Rafael, California. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Project EIR was completed in 2021. The project description includes channel grading and replacing the fish ladder in the Town of Ross and downstream in Kentfield constructing a new pump station for the Granton Park neighborhood, adding an access ramp down into the concrete channel for equipment maintenance, and improving fish passage by constructing new fish resting pools in the bottom of the channel. The project is partially funded by a California Department of Water Resources grant. The remaining project costs are covered by the Flood Control Zone 9 fee and ad valorem revenues. Total construction cost estimate is $9,000,000 (planning level estimate). The County's American Rescue Act is funding a portion of the project at the downstream end of the concrete channel next to the College of Marin. This project is being managed by the Friends of Corte Madera Creek Watershed in partnership with Flood Zone 9, with funding from a State of CA Coastal Conservancy grant for design. This project was approved to be included with the existing DWR grant for construction, but unfortunately the existing FEMA model had an error misrepresenting the existing concrete channel width. This error is being corrected but will need review and certification from FEMA to proceed to ensure no rise of 0.00’. This means the project will be delayed into the 2023 construction season. Information on the project can be found on Friends Madera Creek’s website: https://friendsofcortemaderacreek.org/new_site Project is included in the Marin County's FY 2022-2027 CIP. As of November 7, 2022, information regarding a design team or a general contractor is not available. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2023.* *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
