Overaa is seeking bids for a lateral spreading restraint element (design assist). The job is at an existing school site near a creek. We also need the following information below. Scope of work includes: The Project will be designed and constructed using the design-build project delivery method as specified in California Education Code 17250.10 et seq. The Project generally consists of reducing the potential liquefiable soils that exist throughout the site by implementing a type of ground improvement that minimizes lateral movement at the site and mitigates the risk to the existing school structures along the south side of the campus. Based on soil stabilization concerns, geotechnical studies were performed over the last several years. Based on previous geotechnical studies, it was concluded that potentially liquefiable soils exist throughout the site. Liquefaction-induced settlements were estimated to up to several inches and lateral spread evaluations predicted permanent horizontal displacement of inches to as much as several feet within certain areas. The current design build contract budget is estimated at two million dollars, with construction scheduled for Summer-2021. All other work: Includes site improvements, trash enclosure, chain link fence restoration, Arborist report recommendations to replace indigenous trees demolished through scope of work, and all other work separate from LRSE.
