Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Carson City, Nevada. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Carson City is accepting sealed bids for all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary for the reconstruction of the west parking lot at the Carson City Juvenile Court including removing the AC and aggregate base, concrete work, signs, striping and related improvements. Bid award will be made by the Carson City Board of Supervisors and is tentatively scheduled for August 20, 2020. The meeting will be held in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center, 851 East William Street, Carson City, Nevada 89701 beginning at 8:30 a.m. Questions regarding this bid must be received a minimum of four (4) working days prior to bid opening. The Juvenile Court Parking Lot Repaving site sits on a north-oriented, rectangular parcel of approximately 3.65 acres located at 1545 East 5th Street in Carson City, Nevada. The site is entirely contained in Section 16, Township 15 North, Range 20 East, M.D.M. The project will be located within the northwestern corner of the parcel. The project site is bordered to the north by East 5th Street, to the west by a storage facility, and to the south and east by the juvenile court building and associated structures. The site is presently a parking lot. Access to the site is obtained off of East 5th Street. The proposed repaving project consists of approximately 17,000 square feet of asphalt concrete (AC) driveway and parking areas within the northwestern limit of the facility which will be rehabilitated via repaving/reconstruction. Based on the review of Google Earth TM historical aerial images, these asphalt pavement areas appear to be more than 20 years old; as such, the pavement is likely at the end of its design life and reconstruction with a new structural section consisting of AC pavement underlain by recycled or new aggregate base is expected. Significant alligator cracking areas are also reportedly present and may suggest subgrade issues. Portland cement concrete (PCC) curbs and gutters may be reconstructed in some areas as necessary per the final design. The project area is shown on Plate 1 (Plot Plan).
