Site work and new construction of a fitness / recreation center in Wellesley, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a 78,500-square-foot, two-story above grade fitness / recreation center; and for site work for a fitness / recreation center.
Township of Wellesley (the Township) is inviting interested groups or teams to submit Responses to the Request for Pre-Qualification (RFPQ) indicating their interest and presenting their qualifications for Design-Build services to construct a new Recreation Centre in Wellesley Township. The centre will include: an NHL-sized ice pad with single-sided seating for approximately 500 spectators and a total capacity area of approximately 1000, with space set aside should another rink be needed in the future. There will be nine regular dressing rooms, two of which will be fully accessible and an additional dressing room reserved for the Junior C Wellesley Apple Jacks. Documents and addenda can be obtained at: https://wellesley.bidsandtenders.ca Ontario Government announced it will be contributing around $16 million to the roughly $22 million facility. *Construction on the new recreation facility will begin in March of 2022 and is expected to open to the public in fall of 2023. *Architect and engineering team is currently not available for publication.
