Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Barnegat, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the demolition of a fire / police facility; for the construction of a fire / police facility; for site work for a fire / police facility; municipal facility; municipal facility; and municipal facility.

This project consists of the construction of a new 2-story Municipal Building with a partial Basement, containing a total of approximately 31,700 GSF, plus associated site improvements. The building will have concrete footings and foundation walls, and a concrete slab-on-grade. The superstructure will consist of a structural steel frame with a composite slab at the portion of the First Floor over the Basement and throughout the Second Floor. The perimeter of the foundation will be insulated with extruded polystyrene boards. The skin of the building will be comprised of a 4" decorative concrete block veneer anchored either to insulated gypsum-sheathed heavy-gauge engineered steel studs walls or to reinforced concrete or concrete block backup walls with seismic-resistant masonry anchors. Lintels and copings and other cladding accents will be cast stone. Windows, storefronts, and entrances will be framed with aluminum and glazed with high-performance insulated glass. Gutters will be built-in. Interior operating systems will include HVAC, plumbing, re protection, and electrical. The technology infrastructure will consist of a cable plant, data network provisions, voice systems, and a variety of security systems, including electronic access control provisions at selected doors, and surveillance cameras. A lightning protection system is also part of the contract. A 3-stop LULA-type hydraulic elevator is to be provided. Sitework will include site utilities, stormwater management, earthwork, concrete curbs and sidewalks, site lighting, site amenities, vehicular access controls, and landscaping. The Public Works Buildings on the site is no longer in use and will be environmentally abated, demolished, and removed, under a separate contract, prior to the start of this Contract. The Municipal Building currently on the site will be environmentally abated, demolished, and removed as part of this Contract after the new building has been completed and occupied. The sitework is to be implemented in phases in order to provide sient parking for the public and for the staff throughout the construction period and in order to enable the existing Municipal Building to remain open and fully operational throughout the construction period.
