Demolition and site work for a water / sewer project in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

Quonset Development Corporation (QDC) is requesting bids from marine contractors for the demolition of an existing seaplane ramp located on the south shore of General Dynamics Electric Boat's (GDEB) Quonset Point Facility in North Kingston, Rhode Island. The seaplane ramp is located approximately 1,140-ft south from the corner of Macnaught Street and John Thomas Road. The Work consists of demolishing the remaining 200-ft long by 50-ft reinforced concrete ramp which includes the extraction of approximately 224 creosoted timber piles, 56 concrete pile caps, concrete beams between pile caps, and the concrete deck structure which includes a curb and mooring fittings. The riprap embankment and adjacent steel sheet pile bulkhead shall remain. It is the Contractor's responsibility to ensure the stability of the embankment and bulkhead is maintained throughout and once the construction is complete. All construction shall be performed from water via barge operations. All access to the waterfront shall be coordinated with QDC and GDEB. There are approximately 224 creosoted timber piles that are 14-in. diameter and arranged in four-pile clusters. The pile clusters are embedded into 6.25-ft square by 3.5-ft deep concrete pile caps, which are braced by concrete beams that are 12" x 21" in section. The concrete deck 9" thick with a 10"x10" curb along its perimeter with twelve 12" cast steel mooring cleats located on the northern half of the structure. Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee in the amount of Twenty Percent (20%) of the Base Bid Amount (section C-200 Article 8). The Contractor to whom the contract is awarded will be required to post performance and payment bonds in the amount of OneHundred Percent (100%) of the contract price. Bonds shall be executed on Engineer's Joint Contract Documents Committee format (EJCDC No. C-610, EJDC No. C-615 or on comparable format which is approved in advance by the Quonset Development Corporation). The bonds shall be issued by a company that is acceptable to the Quonset Development Corporation. A minimum requirement for acceptability shall be that the Surety Company is currently listed on U.S. Department of the Treasury Circular #570 as holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds and as holding a Surety License in the State of Rhode Island. An appropriate Certificate of Corporate Authority shall accompany the required performance and payment bonds.
