The Work includes site and interior demolition work, construction of a building expansion, improvements to an existing structure, installation of a sludge dewatering process, HVAC improvements, removal and replacement of sludge pumps and associated fittings, site grading, concrete removal, installation of new yard piping, and relocation of site drainage and yard piping. Installation of rooftop solar panels are a bid alternative to this project. Bids from Bidders who are not on the Plan Holders List may be returned as not being responsive. Plan Holders are requested to provide an e mail address if they wish to receive addenda and other information electronically. Plan Holders are requested to designate whether they are a prime contractor, subcontractor, or supplier if they want this information posted on the project Plan Holders List. The Bid must be accompanied by a proposal bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Bid, or by a certified check, cashier's check, or irrevocable letter of credit for ten percent (10%) of the Bid, made payable to the City of Athens, Ohio, conditioned that if a Bid is awarded, Contractor will sign Contract within ten (10) days after Notice of Award. A performance bond of one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract with a satisfactory surety company, conditioned according to law, will be required for the faithful performance of the Contract. CONTRACTOR shall pay wages to each laborer and mechanic at a rate not less than the minimum wages specified in the current wage determination in accordance with the provisions of the Davis Bacon Act. All iron and steel production used for this project must be produced in the United States per Section 436(a) - (1) of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2014. Bidders shall comply with the President's Executive Order No. 11246, Equal Employment Opportunity as amended. The City of Athens reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any technicality, and to accept any Bid which it deems advantageous. All Bids shall remain subject to acceptance for 150 days after the time set for receiving Bids. Contract award shall be made based on the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder.
