Site work and new construction of a detention facility in St. John's, Newfoundland. Design plans call for the construction of a 226,000-square-foot, two-story above grade, 276-bed detention facility; and for site work for a detention facility.
Design, build, finance and maintain construction of a new adult correctional facility. Scope to include: male and female housing units; inmate services; health programs/clinics; and support staff facilities. Capacity of twice as many inmates as HMP. TIMELINE: Avalon Correctional Partners is the preferred design-build team. Estimated project costs are being re-evaluated to account for inflation; new estimated costs are not yet confirmed. At this time, project updates are unreleased for publication. Update may be confirmed summer 2025.
