A timeline for the award is not yet determined.** CLARIFICATION DEADLINE 2/23/2021 5:00 PM The Town of Wallingford is seeking a contractor to raise and adjust manhole castings and covers on State Highways where Department of Transportation contractors have paved. The contractor shall provide all labor, tools, material, and equipment as necessary to raise and adjust existing sanitary sewer manhole covers and frames at locations within State Highways as specified herein and as directed by the Town of Wallingford. Work shall include saw-cutting of existing pavement, removal of pavement and road base material as necessary to install solid concrete block and/or brick with full mortar joints under the manhole frames in order to raise and adjust the manhole frames and covers to match the existing surrounding pavement surface. The exterior of the concrete block and brick work shall be coated with a full layer of mortar and bituminous waterproofing material. The roadway pavement shall be saw-cut and restored using materials and methods as required by State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (CT-DOT). After the manhole frames and covers are raised and adjusted, the Contractor shall furnish and install compacted roadway base material and asphalt pavement to a depth as required by the CT-DOT. The Contractor shall perform all work required to restore the final pavement surface to the satisfaction of the CT-DOT. All work shall be performed in accordance with the requirements of the encroachment permit to be obtained by the Contractor from CT-DOT. The Contractor shall provide all traffic control devise such as signs, cones, barricades and traffic control personnel as required by the CT-DOT in order to maintain and protect traffic while performing the work herein specified.
