All bids rejected by city The project site is located at Ames City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue, Ames, Iowa 50010. This project consists of replacing two existing air handlers with one central air handler serving the auditorium. The existing air handlers, coils, and controls shall be removed as indicated in the project documents. A new air handler, new controls, and new ductwork shall be provided. Add Alternate #1 will including split systems in the second-floor auditorium lobby. All other work indicated in the contract documents shall also be included in the project scope. Each successful bidder shall be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of its contract price. Said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement in good repair for a period of one (1) year from and after the completion and acceptance by the City. The City does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City. As required by Iowa Administrative Code 875, Chapter 156, the bidder shall complete and submit the Bidder Status Form with its bid and certify its state or country of domicile by completing the address section of the Bid Form. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provision grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa labor, to the extent lawfully required under Iowa statutes The Base Bid Work is expected to occur between the dates of February 2nd and May 18th 2020. The Project will be phased in a such a way to minimize the downtime of the existing facility, meaning that the new air handler will be ordered, lifted onto the roof, installed and energized before the existing air handling units are removed The contractor shall be responsible for protecting existing building components, including roofing, and shall be responsible for repairing any damage occurring to building components as a result of Project Work. The building will be occupied for regularly for weekly events including Wednesday nights (4pm to 7pm) and Sunday mornings (8am to 12pm), but otherwise the building will be available during normal business hours.
