Renovation of a fire / police facility in Cypress, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 13,771-square-foot, one-story above grade fire / police facility.

**As of 9/16/2020 project was not yet been awarded. No estimated time frame yet. The scope of work for this project includes, but is not limited to non-structural tenant improvements including interior office and Emergency Operations Center partitions, accessible restrooms, doors, millwork, cabinets, finishes, lighting, power and data distribution, new and redistributed HVAC systems and installation of fire sprinklers and related water line for the Police Department tenant improvement only. Exterior work to include outdoor patio enclosure and accessible stair chair lift to basement. Structural improvements shall include but is not limited to seismic retrofit of entire building, new HVAC equipment and supports, new foundation work required for exterior upgrades. Provisions for phased work including temporary modular buildings, temporary utility connections and site accessibility are also a part of the scope of work. Alternate Bids : include itemized deductive bi d line item for exterior patio enclosure an d exterior stair chair lift an d related exterior work including concrete staircase. All Base Bid work shall be completed within ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY(180)working days following written Notice to Proceed from the City. Each bid shall be accompanied by bid security referred to in the contract documents and by a list of proposed subcontractors. Evidence of insurance, a performance bond, and a labor and materials bond as specified in the contract documents will be required prior to execution of the contract. Pursuant to the Labor Code of the State of California, the Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of wages and employer payments for health and welfare, vacation, pension and similar purposes applicable to the work to be done. This rate and scale are on file with the City Engineer, and copies will be made available to any interested party on request. The contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and the subcontractors under him, must pay not less than these rates for this area to all workers employed in the execution of the contract At the time of the award of the contract, the successful bidder shall possess a Class "A" contractor's license. Only a contractor registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) to bid on public works contracts in California shall be permitted to submit a bid.Furthermore, only subcontractors registered with the DIR to bid on public works contracts in California shall be permitted to perform work or labor or render service under subcontract to the subject contractor. In accordance with Public Contract Code section 22000, the bidder who is awarded the contract may substitute securities for retention moneys withheld by a public agency to ensure performance under this contract. The procedure and requirements for substituting said securities is set forth in Public Contract Code section 22000 which is incorporated by this reference as set forth herein. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bid or in the bidding and to make awards in the interest of the City. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the opening of bids. Ten percent (10%) of Bid (Cash, Certified Cashier's Check or Bidder's Bond) due attime of bid submittal.
