Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Beckley, West Virginia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 58,785-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

The scope of work of this project consists of the following: 1. Demolition of the existing elementary school is to follow Owner's occupancy of the new elementary school and issuance of the Owner's Notice To Proceed for building demolition. 2. Demolition of existing school building and install geothermal well field in area indicated which includes part of the area of demolition. Coordination is to expedite completion of geothermal well field and all HVAC systems by Substantial Completion. a. Contractor is to install operating temporary cooling tower and HVAC system in the event that completion of HVAC system cannot be achieved by Substantial completion of the new elementary school. b. Temporary cooling tower and HVAC system are to be removed when no longer required. 3. School building will house classrooms, a physical education area, library media center, cafeteria with commercial kitchen, administrative office space, and support facilities. Project also includes related mechanical, electrical, and HVAC work. 4. Construction features the following: a. Load-bearing insulated cast-in-place concrete insulated cavity walls with brick veneer along perimeter of new construction. b. Steel roof framing and roof deck. c. Single-ply membrane roofing where indicated. d. Concrete foundations and slab on grade floor construction. e. Associated plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work as indicated. 5. Site work and Site improvements including, but not limited to, the following: a. Site Utilities. b. Paved driveways and parking areas. c. Signage. d. Landscaping. 6. Alternate Bids will be received by the Owner as specified in Section 012300 "Alternates".
