A project manager, engineer/architect (if applicable), and a representative from Purchasing will be in attendance to witness and affirm that all proposals remain sealed until the live bid opening. The project manager will prepare an attendance and bid tab sheet. Purchasing will take attendance of participants on the Webex and record bid results. Bids will be opened and read publicly for the furnishing of materials, labor, and equipment for the rehabilitation of the Carpenter Water Tank Rehabilitation, Project No. WT1301. The project will consist of a lump sum price with a brief summary as follows: All work required to rehabilitate the Town's existing 2,000,000-gallon elevated steel water storage tank located at: 3800 Highway 55 in Cary, North Carolina. Specific tasks to rehabilitate the Carpenter Tank include, but are not limited to: Spot repair and full over coat of the tank exterior Spot repair of the tank interior dry o Full removal and application of a new coating system for the tank interior wet Replace broken or nonfunctioning light fixtures and electrical receptacles Replace the existing condensation tarp Replace interior wet manway access chain o Replace the existing access hatch door for the interior dry access tube located on the tank roof Overcoat of existing piping, valving and interior walls within the valve vault Overcoat of existing piping and valving within the tank. The Town of Cary is not responsible for a Bidder relying on incomplete bid documents. Bidders must be registered with Hazen and Sawyer and have received an electronic copy of the Bidding Documents from Hazen and Sawyer in order to have its Bid deemed responsive. Contractors offering a proposal on this project must comply, and must ensure that their subcontractors comply, with the requirements of Article 2 of Chapter 64 of the North Carolina General Statutes, "Verification of Work Authorization," and must provide documentation or sign affidavits or any other documents requested by the Town of Cary demonstrating such compliance. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Instruction to Bidders.
