Site work, paving, new construction and renovation of a civil project in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and bridge / tunnel.
Phased upgrades to a 100-kilometre section of the North Klondike Highway. The project involves reconstructing, rehabilitating, replacing and resurfacing critical portions of the highway from north of Carmacks to just south of Dawson. Three bridges, McCabe Creek, Crooked Creek and Moose Creek, will be repaired or replaced and the roadway will be widened in some sections. IMELINE: Project is pending budget. This main report will be updated as various components of the rehabilitation project come into active planning and procurement. Further update late fall 2024, upon approvals. *Federal government will contribute $118 million to the project; the Yukon government will provide $39 million. Anticipated completion of the multi-phased project is in 2027.
