The plant utility water system has not always been satisfactory in supporting all of the demands for Non-Potable Water (NPW) at the MWWTP. Sludge production and other needs for NPW have increased over the years. Low NPW pressures have been experienced throughout the plant and the sludge dewatering process has been negatively affected as a result. Evaluation of the plant utility water system is needed to determine what improvements are necessary in order to satisfy the plant NPW demands. The effect of the UV upgrade was to cut the system from a 4 pump system to a 2 pump system, and it has become a common occurrence to have to defer wash-downs in other areas of the plant in order to operate the belt filter presses or vice versa. As of August 18, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2023-2027 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2025. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
