The zoning request was approved by City Council on February 21, 2022. On March 28, 2022, Southside Constructors was contracted for Phase I services of the progressive design-build project. The City of Charlotte (City) is seeking Progressive Design-Build services to design and construct the CMPD Northwest Division Office (CMPDNWD) (Project) which was.The CMPDNWD will be owned and operated by CMPD and will serve residents located in Northwest Charlotte. Funding for this project is included in Community Investment Program. The City is seeking to award a contract to a design-build firm for a new one-story, 13,000-15,000 -square-foot facility located at 1800 Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road (Parcel Number 03111235) and 1818 Mt Holly-Huntersville Road (Parcel Number 03111234). The facility will house the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department ("CMPD") Northwest Patrol Division. The project will include secured parking for approximately 110 vehicles and approximately visitor parking for 15 vehicles. It is anticipated the facility will achieve at least the base level LEED version 4 certification as required by the City's Sustainable Facilities Policy adopted by the City Council in May 2016. There are also some roadway improvements that will need to be performed as part of the project. The CMPD Northwest Division Office Project shall be completed and placed into operation by September 1st 2022.
