Demolition, site work, paving, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Herreid, South Dakota. Completed plans call for site work for a swimming pool.
As of June 17, 2022 this project is on hold due to bids coming in over budget and will rebid. The rebid information will come out June 21st. Construction is anticipated to start on or around August 22, 2022. The work is to be substantially complete by May 5, 2023 to allow the pool to open to the public by the end of May 2023. The scope of work generally consists of demolition to the existing bath house, pump room, and detached toilet building. Demolition of concrete pool deck, wading pool, and adjacent site conditions. The existing pool shell is to remain in place and is not affected by the proposed work. General construction of a new wood framed bath house. Mechanical and plumbing work associated with construction of the bath house. Electrical work associated with construction of the bath house and site. Construction of a new zero-depth wading pool. Work includes a new wading pool shell, associated piping, drains, pool equipment, and wading pool features. Other pool improvements include replacement of the diving board, drop slide, and reconnecting piping to the existing pool. Site improvements include new concrete pool deck, concrete paving, fencing, grading, seeding, and utility work to the existing water and sewer mains Bid Bond: Each bid shall contain a certified check or a cashier's check, for five percent of the amount of the bid. Such check shall be certified or issued by either a state or a national bank and payable to the City of Herreid. In lieu of a check, a bid may contain a bid bond for ten percent of the amount of the bid. Such bond to be issued by a surety authorized to do business in South Dakota payable to the City of Herreid, as a guaranty that the bidder will enter into a contract. A performance and payment bond will also be required by the Contractor awarded the project. Questions regarding the bidding documents shall be directed to EngTech Engineers and Architects; Trevor Huffaker at 701-258- 7077. All questions and/or product substitution requests must be received in writing or by e-mail on or before four (4) calendar days prior to the bid opening. Responses to questions will be issued by Addendum. The Owner reserves the right to hold all legitimate bids for a period of Thirty (30) days after the date fixed for the opening thereof. The Owner further reserves the right to reject any and all bids and rebid the project until a satisfactory bid is received, and to waive any informalities or irregularities. Project Description: The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and includes, but is not limited to, the following: a) Demolition of the existing bath house, pump room, and detached toilet/chemical storage building. b) Demolition of concrete pool deck and adjacent site conditions. The existing pool shell is to remain in place and is not affected by the proposed work. c) Construction of a new wood framed bath house. d) Mechanical and plumbing work associated with construction of the bath house. e) Electrical work associated with construction of the bath house and site. f) Construction of a new zero-depth wading pool. Work to include new wading pool shell, associated piping, drains, pool equipment, and wading pool features. g) Other pool improvements may include replacement of the diving board, drop slide, and reconnecting piping to the existing pool. h) Site improvements include new concrete pool deck concrete paving, fencing, grading, seeding, and utility work to the existing water and sewer mains. Project Alternates 1. Alternate No. 1: Remove concrete pool deck and chain link fence. Base Bid: Existing portions of the concrete pool deck and chain link fence around the existing swimming pool to remain as noted on the civil plans. Alternate: Remove and replace pool deck around the existing swimming pool shell. Remove and replace designated portions of the chain link fence to the south, east, and north side of the existing swimming pool as noted on the civil plans. 2. Alternate No. 2: Provide concrete parking in lieu of gravel. Base Bid: Provide gravel parking as shown on the plans. Alternate: Providing concrete parking and striping as shown on the plans. 3. Alternate No. 3: Supply and install swimming pool slide and diving board. Base Bid: Existing pool slide and diving board to remain. Rough-in underground utilities for new slide only. Alternate: Remove existing pool slide and diving board. Supply and install new pool slide and diving board as noted on the pool plans. 4. Alternate No. 4: Supply and install overhead coiling door at opening 102B (in lieu painted HM door and frame). Base Bid: Provide HM door and frame as scheduled at opening 102B. Alternate: Supply and install prefinished overhead coiling door at opening 102B. Opening to be 12' wide x 7' tall. Modify header and jamb trim at opening as required.
