The area along Wire Road has a community that is more than five (5) miles from a fire station. Because the residents do not have a nearby station, their home-owners insurance premiums are significantly higher than those of homes within a five-mile radius. This rural fire station is needed to better serve those residents who currently live in the area, as well as those that are expected to influx the area in the near future. The DCFR Station 17 project has a budget of $61,000. Much information will be provided in this solicitation, and it is expected that a garage-type facility can be established on the property for this amount. The successful offeror will be expected to provide construction drawings and plans for the building and site. A deep-water well is currently located on the property; however, there is no septic tank in place. A site plan from the previous owner of the property can be found in Section C of this document; however, the location of the DCFR building will not be in the same location that was proposed by the previous owner on the site plan.
