This project includes the installation and removal of erosion controls and tree protection, excavation and reconstruction of three existing ponds within the Starcke Park Golf Course and reestablishment of permanent vegetation over all disturbed areas upon completion of the project. Total excavation is estimated to be over 10,000 cubic yards. Approximately 7,700 square yards of geomembrane liner is to be installed in the ponds. Some of the excavated material will be used to backfill over the geomembrane liner, a portion will be used as fill within the golf course adjacent to the ponds, and the remaining material will be hauled to a designated area near the golf course. Each bid shall be accompanied by a cashiers check or certified check upon a national or state bank in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total actual bid price payable without recourse to the City of Seguin, or a bid bond in the same amount from a reliable surety company as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute required performance and payment bonds. The contract shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder; however, the right is reserved, as the interests of the owner may require, to reject any and all bids, and to waive any informality or minor defects in bids received. Bids may be held by the owner for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the opening for Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract.
