Completed plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; water / sewer project; and for asbestos abatement for a educational facility.

Work of the Project includes hazardous material abatement of specific building elements, demolition and removal of existing LBJ Elementary structure, removal of underground LPG tank, and demolition and removal of other specified site items including capping and removal of underground and overhead utilities, paving, and stormwater elements. Additional interior building and site inspections will be allowed at a later date and can be scheduled with the Owner's representative. Following the scheduled closing time for receiving the bids, all proposals that have been completely filled out and have been properly submitted with the appropriate attachments in accordance with the Contract Documents will be publicly opened and read via a Microsoft Team meeting beginning at 3:00 p.m., local time, on August 25, 2020. A Microsoft Team meeting stream link will be provided via addendum. Those attending the Bid Opening meeting must have a registered Microsoft Team account prior to joining the Microsoft Team meeting Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the Owner in an amount not less than 5% of the bid. The award of the contract shall be made on the basis of the lowest and best bid in the interest of Breathitt County Board of Education. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the bid opening. The Bidder must submit, with the bid, the following information: 1. Bid Bond - properly signed, witnessed and executed. 2. Proposal Form - properly signed, with completed listing of all subcontractors. Bids are to be placed in a single, sealed envelope, labeled with the project name, KDE BG# and submitting company. Non-conformance to the above requirements shall be grounds for rejection of the Bid. A 100% Performance and Payment Bond shall be provided by the successful Bidder at the time of Contracting. The Owner reserves the right to waive informalities and irregularities, and shall have the right to reject any and all bids.
