Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Apex, North Carolina. Completed plans call for paving for a 178-space sidewalk / parking lot; and road / highway.
This project includes resurfacing the existing paved Saunders Street public parking lot and paving the currently leased gravel lot. Parking count will be maximized in the combined lot. This project assumes acquisition of property in order to pave the gravel lot. If the project is not funded, it will be more difficult to offset parking loss from the Streetscape and increase parking downtown, and the vision shown in the Downtown Plan to promote accessibility and downtown growth as a focal point for the community will not be realized. The project is included in the town's 2022-2026 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of July 10, 2023, design is 75% complete. The project will be publicly advertised to bid in the winter of 2023/2024, with the lowest qualified bid accepted by the City of Apex. Construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2024 pending property acquisition and approval of final plans and permits. Question Deadline 09/12/2024 at 2:00 PM ET All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing via email. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda via email notification to all tracking users on the project web page. Questions received less than five days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect.
