The Contractor shall keep and maintain, at the job site, a copy of contract documents, marked up to indicate all changes made during the course of a project, as specified herein. The WORK of this project consists of new valves and piping at four project sites along Peoria Street. Two of the project sites, one near the intersections of Harvard Avenue and the other near Exposition Avenue, consist of new 24-inch butterfly valves, concrete thrust walls, short lengths of 28-inch steel pipe, and combination air-vacuum valves inside of precast concrete manhole structures. One project site, at the intersection of Alameda Avenue, includes the demolition of an existing, below-grade concrete vault and 24-inch gate valve. A new, short length of 28-inch buried steel pipe will be installed to replace the existing features. The last project site, at the intersection of 6th Avenue, includes the removal and replacement of an existing, below-grade concrete vault and several valves. This project site will require a deep shoring system, groundwater dewatering, groundwater remediation, the protection of an existing traffic signal light foundation, and re-signaling of the traffic signal light. One 24-inch gate valve and two 16-inch gate valves will replace the existing valves at this site. An existing 27-inch by 16-inch steel cross will be replaced with a 24-inch by 16-inch steel cross. Short lengths of 24-inch and 16-inch buried steel pipe will extend beyond the exterior of the replacement, below-grade vault. Concrete thrust walls will be installed on all four sides of the replacement vault. Temporary linestop fittings will be required to be installed prior to depressurizing and draining the existing pipes on this site.
