1.Interior and exterior painting with lead containment of a 250,000-gallon legged water storage tank (110' tall.) 2.Scope of work is to remove interior and exterior coatings to bare white metal and apply new coatings per the specifications. 3. Lead containing coating is present on the structure. In accordance with OSHA 1926.62, the contractor shall comply with all federal requirements for testing, reporting, and monitoring lead. 4. Since it is anticipated that the coatings currently on the exterior surfaces of the tank contain elevated levels of lead, all debris generated during paint removal operations should be disposed of accordingly. Masking agents such as Blast-Ox, Pretox or Enviro Prep should be used in conjuncture with blasting operations in quantities to ensure nonhazardous waste material. Testing of the debris generated by blasting operations must comply with all local, state & federal regulations and is the responsibility of the contractor.
