Renovation of a water / sewer project in Charleston, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
For Pump Station - 33 Upgrade Project The Work shall include providing all labor and materials for the upgrade of JIPSD existing Pump Station- 33, including coordination and ancillary work with JIPSD for temporary by-pass pumping, demolition and removal of existing elevated platforms, footings and slabs, designated electrical and mechanical equipment, and other designated components for JIPSD salvage. Remove existing pumps and wet well riser piping for JIPSD salvage. Remove and re-install existing piping as indicated and furnish and install new above grade discharge ductile iron piping, and flow meter. Repair existing wet well interior concrete surfaces and furnish and install new wet well linings and interior riser piping and coatings. Install new Owner Supplied flood-proof safety hatch. Furnish and install pipe supports. Install new Owner Supplied duplex submersible pumps, Owner Supplied Pump Control/SCADA-RTU Panel, 250 kw Generator, MTS and ATS. Furnish and install all natural gas piping, valves, regulator, and appurtenances for Generator NG supply. Furnish and install all conduit, wiring, materials, labor and ancillary appurtenances necessary to install all Owner Supplied Equipment (OSE). Furnish and install all ancillary electrical level controls, conduit and wiring, and ancillary electrical service panels. Furnish all labor and materials to reconstruct existing wet well top slab, pipe painting, and furnish and install all conduits, wiring, and elevated platform equipment. Furnish and install additional below-grade piping connecting to the existing influent force main as indicated. Furnish and install new electrical equipment rack, all primary electrical service conduit and wiring from Dominion point-of-service, and pay for all Dominion costs to upgrade the electrical and natural gas service upgrades to OSE generator and electrical equipment rack. Furnish all labor and materials for new Site Work including repairs to existing asphalt surfaces, new aggregate surfaces, where indicated. Furnish all labor and materials for new precast and cast-in -place elevated equipment platform, aluminum railing, access stairs, lighting, and appurtenances. Furnish and maintain all required temporary by-pass pumping equipment. Furnish and install all labor and materials for temporary erosion control measures, miscellaneous site work, and appurtenances, complete as indicated and specified This Project will be funded by a loan from the SC RIA State Revolving Fund. Bidders must comply with all applicable state and federal requirements identified in the bid documents. A condition of federal grant awards, regulations require that SRF recipients (James Island Public Service District) and contractors to make a good faith effort to award a fair share of work to qualified small, minority and women's businesses. The Project shall include compliance with the "Davis-Bacon Act" and "American Iron and Steel" requirements.All questions regarding this Project shall be submitted in writing to G. Robert George& Associates, Inc., 2411Savannah Highway, Charleston, SC 29414, via fax at 843-571-0276, or via e-mail at grgassoc@comcast.net. Questions must include the project name in the subject heading. No response will be given to questionsrecei ved less than seven (7) days before the bid date. Each proposal must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check payable to the James Island Public Service District in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price. If, upon acceptance of the bid, a Bidder fails to enter into a Contract with the James Island Public Service District, the bid security shall be forfeited to and become the property of the James Island Public Service District.No bidder may withdraw their bid within ninety (90) days after the date of the bid openin g. The successful bidder must furnish a separate one hundred percent (100%) Performance and Payment Bonds issued by a surety company satisfactory to the James Island Public Service District. The successful bidder must also provide proof of fire, extended coverage, vandalism and malicious mischief insurance equal to the actual value of the insured property during construction.Proposals may be delivered in person to the District's office or by mail to P.O. Box 12140, Charleston, South Carolina 29422-2140. It is the Bidder's responsibility to deliver the proposal to the specified location prior to the time for the close of acceptance of the proposal. The James Island Public Service District assumes no responsibility for submittals received after the advertised deadline or at any office or location other than that specified herein, whether due to mail delays, courier mistake, mishandling or any other reason. If the proposal is delivered by other than hand delivery, it is recommended that the Bidder verify delivery. The District will make no reimbursement for any costs incurred prior to a formal notice to proceed should an award of contract result from this solicitation.The James Island Public Service District reserves the right to reject any and all responses and to waive technicalities as deemed to be in the best interest of the District or reject any or all bids. The James Island Public Service District reserves the right to request additional information from bidders as deemed necessary by the District to analyze bidder qualifications. Bidders are required to certify, under penalty of perjury, that bids have been prepared without collusion with other bidders, subcontractors, suppliers, etc. This certification is included with the Bid Proposal, which each Bidder must sign in the space provided.
