This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Southington, Connecticut. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

The contract period will be from November 1, 2020 -- April 30, 2021. All equipment shall be ready for use by November 1, 2020. 1. Equipment and personnel must be available on a two-hour call basis. Bidders are required to furnish all necessary telephone numbers to the Town of Southington for call-in purposes. 2. The equipment used to clear the school access walks shall be limited to skid steer loader with snow blowers and walk-behind snow blowers. Skid steer-mounted snow blowers shall be 48" in width and walk-behind blowers shall be a minimum of 10 hp, 24" in width, and commercial grade. The areas in which the equipment is used will be determined by the Assistant Highway Superintendent. Trucks to be used for sanding of walkways are to be no smaller than a 3/4 ton pick-up. 3. The cost of equipment mentioned above includes operators who must be qualified, competent, and reliable. 4. If the lower bidder is unable to supply equipment at any time, the Town will go to the second or succeeding bidder on the list. 5. Sections of School Access Walks will be assigned by the Assistant Highway Superintendent to individual contractors. 6. The Town reserves the right to use bid items as much or as little as needed and to inspect snow removal equipment to be used. 7. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept and use the bid which it deems to be in the best interest of the Town. Bids may also be rejected based on past performance history. 8. Bidders must comply with all requirements of the Civil Rights Act. 9. Proof of insurance must be provided prior to the start of work. The Certificate of Insurance shall name the Town of Southington as a second insured and state at least the following minimum limits: $1,000,000 General Liability $1,000,000 Automobile Liability and the State of Connecticut statutory minimum for Workers' Compensation coverage. 10. A11 invoices must be submitted within ten (10) days after each snow storm. 11.All sidewalks must be cleared to the width of 48" and all handicap ramps and crosswalk ramps must be cleared to their full widths. Bidders are responsible for all areas of lawn and driveway damage caused by snow removal operations. All damage must be repaired by May 15, 2021. Should the Town be required to make repairs, all costs shall be back-charged to the contractor.
