Project Description: MaineDOT proposes to replace the existing 357', 7 span, Mattawamkeag Bridge #2522 with a 387', 3 span bridge in approximately the same footprint as the existing bridge. A temporary work trestle and temporary detour bridge, both supported by temporary pipe pile bents will be located immediately upstream of the existing bridge. The temporary, single lane, detour bridge with alternating traffic will be located approximately 40' upstream of the existing bridge. A 30' wide temporary work trestle is necessary for the demolition of the existing bridge and construction of the new bridge and will be located between the existing and detour bridges.
